An extremely good choice
“I haven’t looked back. I think it’s been extremely good for me and the family feels that too. Because they don’t need to worry, and I don’t want to be a burden."
- Bev
Help is always available
“We have 5 call buttons in our apartment. I pushed one by mistake once and the nurse was up in seconds!”
- Ray
I feel content here
“This is a happy village and it’s a homely village.”
- Bill
I feel reassured
“Knowing that help is readily available is very reassuring. A nurse is on-site 24/7, so if assistance is needed just call them or pop on down to see them.”
- Barry
The wow factor
“This village has got that extra dimension, it’s not great big tall buildings and rows of apartments which I would find claustrophobic. And the garden is beautiful and we can easily walk around the village... It's quite social!”
- Maggie
Such a beautiful space
“This is a beautiful space, nobody else has got a space like this. When we have 180 here dining together, the tables can all go out around and leave the stage for entertainment, and it works.”
- Jean
A positive place
“I can say [living here] is a major positive in your life. That there are like minded people. So if you want company it is there. You can seek it for yourself. You can meet people for coffee and it’s wonderful. So I haven’t looked back. I think it’s been extremely good for me and the family feels that too. Because they don’t need to worry, and I don’t want to be a burden.”
- Jim
So much to do here!
“In the village there are so many different groups. People set up groups like bowls, croquet, cards, rummikub, and lots of different things you can do and it’s a choice. Oh and there’s keep fit class. I use the gym every morning. I would go about 6:30 AM every morning, and then into the pool. I had one of the men who was very good and he did bring in a gym instructor at some stage.”
- Mary
A friendly atmosphere
“This village is quite unique. We explored other villages, but didn’t get the vibe. They didn't have friendly atmospheres. It felt as if you would be living in a corridor.”
- June
Safety first
“The nurses here are good. You see, because of my surgery, my shin is very susceptible to getting knocks and it sometimes breaks the skin, so I’m quite often down there getting a dressing done to it.”
- Maggie
“There is a weight lifted off your shoulder. Once you settle in you think I should have done this sooner. People often say we should have been here 5 years earlier.”
